ENGLISH CLUB:

We are able to provided all the local children with english lessons during English Club that takes place five times a week at our center and brings the children a one on one learning style that is not present in the public schools. We break students up by age and previous english knowledge so they are in a classroom appropriate for their level. These classes are also supplemented by open study lessons for children who want to drop in for extra instruction. Our approach is more inclusive for all learning types. It’s our goal to have all participants conversational in english.

SIMBAS Sports Club:

Another way to provide children with healthy structure is through sports. Simbas Club has recently established a Football and a Netball teams made up of the young athletes that are from the Majengo community and are currently attending Simbas Club. Simbas Club has supplied all the equipment needed for the teams as well as a Simbas employee to act as the head coach. The sport teams teache kids structure, community, responsibility and communication skills all within the fun and active environment.

MUSIC PROGRAM:

Music has been proven to improve a child's mental health, motor skills and self esteem, we at Simbas Footprints strive to find creative outlets for all of our students and recognize that different people learn through different tools. We now offer a music program at Simbas Club once a week where the students can be trained on different instruments and get musical instruction. Traditional dance is also a big part of our music club.

Salva age 6 is playing a little guitar and harmonica during music club. Salva was the youngest child in Simbas children home and we successfully reunited him with his mother who he lives with in Mejango. Salva now attends the Simbas Community Center after school and participates in all the programing.
